Laurie on the Move
Fast travel, honest guides, and the places nobody else writes about
About me
Hi there, I’m Laurie. Fast travel addict, obscure region obsessive, and firm believer that you don’t need to quit your job to see a ridiculous amount of the world.
Originally from the UK, now based in Lima, I’ve lived across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and while travel was always something I wanted to do more of, it was only in the last few years that it properly took over. What started as a hobby became an unhinged logistical sport, and I haven’t looked back.
I’ve hit 130+ countries, and over the years I’ve gotten genuinely good at building the kind of itineraries that maximise every public holiday, long weekend, and spare day off – the ones most people would look at and say “that’s insane.” It is. It also works.
Half the places I visit have complicated logistics, limited information online, and no obvious blueprint for how to get there. Figuring that out, and then actually writing it down so you don’t have to, is kind of the whole point of this blog. You might find some regular destinations in here too, because sometimes a place just deserved to be talked about!
I’m also a bit obsessed with capturing places in their best light. Something about photographing somewhere that most people will never see feels worth doing well, and that obsession has quietly turned into a hospitality and travel photography side project too.
So here you’ll find real itineraries, honest tips, and photography from the places most people never reach, proving that limited holiday allowance and a shotage of time are not the barriers you think they are.
